Salewa Speed Ascent Walking Shoes

The award-winning Speed Ascent is a low-cut, fast hiking shoe with an innovative and unconventional design. It gives active mountaineers natural fast roll-off performance on mixed mountain terrain.

Take-Off Technology Upper

The Salewa Speed Ascent Walking Shoes are constructed with a highly wear-resistant, breathable mesh upper which allows air to permeate the exterior, allowing ventilation to flow throughout, keeping the feet feeling cool and comfortable. The shoe is built around Salewa's Take-Off Technology which features a curved forefoot that positions the toes in a slightly raised position to support the natural rolling movement of the foot. The upper is also equipped with an Overlap Tongue Construction which provides perfect wrapping and superior comfort in the arch area and a double-row lacing system that provides custom-tunable fit and a firm foothold.

MFF+ Midsole

Fitted with the innovative multi-layer MFF+ which allows for more customisation on the forefoot by using two interchangeable layers to accommodate a greater range of foot shapes and sizes. Equipped with the trademark Salewa 3F System which connects the instep area of the shoe with the sole and heel; ensuring flexibility, support, and the correct fit. Keeping your shoes smelling fresh is thanks to CLEANSPORT NXT which offers a process of using probiotic technology to provide a method of odour control with athletic footwear. Beneficial microbes, which are found all around us and are naturally occurring, are selected and bonded to the surface of the fabric. This innovative process of applying live micro-organisms to fibres, results in natural, non-toxic health benefits to consumers and the environment.

Vibram RollinGait System Outsole

Designed with a Vibram RollinGait System which is an innovative technology that helps the natural roll of the foot, blending form and flexibility. It has been specifically developed to optimise energy output, reduce muscle fatigue and help you walk for longer. When the foot first hits the ground, the centre of pressure moves from the heel to the metatarsus and then the toes. The unique curved shape of the RGS sole supports the natural movement of the foot on the ground, step after step.

Salewa History

SALEWA was founded on the 8th July 1935 by Josef Liebhart in Munich. During WW2 the company produced various leather and textile products, first of all, rucksacks with tubular steel frames and ski poles of hazelwood. With the great demand for ski polesin the winter of 1952/53, Salewa made its breakthrough into the sports sector. In 1955, Salewa developed the unique Andes backpack and supported the Andes expedition of Hermann Huber, who was to become the managing director of Salewa. During the 1960s, the development and production of the fully adjustable Salewa classic light crampon set new standards and became one of their most successful products to date. Salewa gained international recognition as a leader in alpine innovation with its invention of the tubular ice screw, which today is an industry standard. In 1978, decisive steps towards expansion were taken and the product range was extended to include functional clothing. In 1979 Salewa presented all its products with the same logo for the first time: the Salewa eagle was created as that logo and thereafter stood as the symbol of incomparable quality.
